“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.”
— John Steinbeck

Southern Ontario has had some very cold temperatures this February, which can make it a bit difficult to get outdoors to shoot. However sometimes you just have to bundle up and do it. I am not a huge fan of winter but I do think that there is a beauty to all the seasons. To me winter has a stillness or quiet that the other seasons do not have. Sometimes I think it looks very bleak and brooding, but that too has a certain beauty to it. Lake Ontario at the area of Burlington and Hamilton is ice covered.  I have enjoyed the photographic opportunities as it looks a little bit “otherworldly”.
